Confirmation Service Hours Update
The American Red Cross has several dates available for students to earn service hours in the community. Remember the task will be counting in 10's and rubber banding in order to help prepare for the United Way Campaign. The dates available are Wednesday June 11th, Thursday June 12th, Monday June 23rd , Wednesday June 25th, Wednesday July 2nd, Thursday July 3rd, Friday July 18th, and Friday July 25th. There are six spots available for each visit with the exception of July 18th and July 25th. There are ten spots available on both of those days. Our shift to work is 12pm-3pm.
Also, when students are providing service out in the community they will need to have a permission slip/liability release form signed by their parents. This can be printed directly from Edline. Parents who volunteer as ministry site coordinators will need to collect them before the children attend the site and return it to Laurie Huff at the parish office.
I am still in need of parents who are willing to volunteer as site coordinators. Your help is greatly appreciated and your role will include organizing transportation, making sure there are two adults available to supervise and that completion slips are signed by a site person and returned to me at the parish offices.
Don't forget that service hours preferences are due by Wednesday, May 28th. I will do my best to honor your requests. The first week of summer vacation already provides three opportunities to provide service. They include My Neighbor's Place on Tuesday, June 10th and the American Red Cross on June 11th and June 12th. If parents are available to help with any of these first three tasks please E-mail me at Hufflaurie@yahoo.com or you can reach me at the parish offices 661-2000.
It's going to be such a rewarding summer and I can't wait to get started!

According to CatholicReference.net, service may be defined as performing one's religious duty as a creature toward God, and fulfilling one's moral responsibility of meeting the needs of others
