OF THE CROSS
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
THE
OUR FATHER
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will
be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
HAIL
MARY
Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us
sinners now and at the hour of our death Amen.
GLORY
BE TO THE FATHER
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the
beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
MORNING PRAYER
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I will begin this day. I thank you, Lord,
for having preserved me during the night. I will do my best to make all I do
today pleasing to You and in accordance with Your will. My dear mother Mary,
watch over me this day. My Guardian Angel, take care of me. St. Joseph and all
you saints of God, pray for me... (followed by Daily Offering)
DAILEY
OFFERING
O Jesus, through the immaculate heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings of this day in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world. I offer them for all the intentions of your sacred heart:
the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, the reunion of all Christians. I
offer them for the intentions of our bishops and of all the apostles of prayer,
and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month.
EVENING PRAYER
O my God, at the end of this day I thank You most heartily for all the graces I
have received from You. I am sorry that I have not made a better use of them. I
am sorry for all the sins I have committed against You. Forgive me, O my God,
and graciously protect me this night. Blessed Virgin Mary, my dear heavenly
mother, take me under your protection. St. Joseph, my dear Guardian Angel, and
all you saints of God, pray for me. Sweet Jesus, have pity on all poor sinners,
and save them from hell. Have mercy on the suffering souls in purgatory...
(followed by an Act of Contrition)
ACT OF
CONTRITION
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You and I detest all my sins,
because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all
because they offend you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance
and to amend my life.
PRAYER BEFORE MEALS
Bless us Oh Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from thy
bounty, through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
AFTER: We give Thee thanks for all Thy benefits, O Almighty God, who lives and reigns world without end. Amen. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
COME HOLY
SPIRIT
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire
of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall
renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the
faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy
His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
ST.
AUGUSTINE’S PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O
Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that
I love but what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is
holy. Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy. Amen.
ACT OF
FAITH
O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three divine Persons, Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit; I believe that your divine Son became man and died for our
sins, and that he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these
and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because you revealed
them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
ACT OF HOPE
O my God, relying on your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain
pardon of my sins, the help of your grace, and life everlasting, through the
merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.
ACT OF
LOVE
O my God, I love you above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because you
are all good and worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself for the
love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and I ask pardon of all whom I
have injured.
DIVINE
PRAISES
Blessed be God. Blessed be His Holy Name. Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and
true Man. Blessed be the Name of Jesus. Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be His Most Precious Blood. Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament
of the Altar. Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete. Blessed be the great
Mother of God, Mary most Holy. Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her Glorious Assumption. Blessed be the Name of Mary, Virgin and
Mother. Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse. Blessed be God in His
Angels and in His Saints
SELFLESSNESS
O Dearly beloved Word of God, teach me to be generous, to serve Thee as Thou
dost deserve, to give without counting the cost, to fight without fretting at my
wounds, to labor without seeking rest, to spend myself without looking for any
reward other than that of knowing that I do Thy holy will. Amen.
GUARDIAN ANGEL
Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day
(or night) be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
THE
APOSTLE'S CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus
Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of
the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was
buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He
ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness
of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
CANTICLE OF MARY
My soul
proclaims your greatness, O my God,
and my spirit has rejoiced in your my Saviour;
For you have regarded me as your holy handmaid;
henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;
For you who are mighty, have done great things for me,
and Holy is your Name;
Your mercy is on those who fear you throughout all generations.
You have showed strength with your arm.
You have scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
You have put down the mighty from their seat,
and have lifted up the powerless.
You have filled the hungry with good things,
and have sent the rich away empty.
Remembering your mercy,
You have helped your people Israel -
As you promised Abraham and Sarah.
Mercy to their children forever.
THE
ANGELUS V
The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R- And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. (Hail Mary....)
V- Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R- Be it done unto me according to thy word. (Hail Mary....)
V- And the Word was made Flesh.
R- And dwelt among us. (Hail Mary....)
V- Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R- That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
LET US PRAY: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts;
that, we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the
message of an Angel, may by His Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of
His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
Traditionally, the Angelus is said at 6 - 12 - 6
MEMORARE
Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we turn to you, O Virgins of virgins, our Mother. To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, do not despise our petitions, but in your mercy hear us and answer us. Amen.
HAIL,
HOLY QUEEN
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious
Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us
the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Amen.
PRAYER
BEFORE COMMUNION
Father in heaven, you have made us for yourself; our hearts are restless until
they rest in you. Fulfill this longing through Jesus, the bread of life, so that
we may witness to him who alone satisfies the hungers of the human family. By
the power of your Spirit lead us to the heavenly table where we may feast on the
vision of your glory for ever and ever. Amen.
ANIMA
CHRISTI
Soul of Christ, make me holy. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, fill me
with love. Water from Christ's side, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
Good Jesus, hear me. Within your wounds, hide me. Never let me be parted from
you. From the evil enemy, protect me. At the hour of my death, call me. And tell
me to come to you. That with your saints I may praise you. Through all eternity.
Amen.
PRAYER
FOR PERSONAL FORGIVENESS
Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins, I renounce Satan and all his works, And I
give you my life. I accept you whom I've just received in communion. I now
receive and accept you as my personal Lord and my personal Savior, and as we
just prayed, fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
PRAYER
BEFORE A CRUCIFIX
Behold, O Kind and most sweet Jesus, before Thy face I humbly kneel, and with
the most fervent desire of soul, I pray and beseech Thee to impress upon my
heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, true contrition for my sins
and a firm purpose of amendment. With deep affection and grief of soul, I ponder
within myself, mentally contemplating Thy five wounds, having before my eyes the
words which David the Prophet spoke concerning Thee: "They have pierced my hands
and my feet, they have numbered all my bones."
INVOCATIONS IN HONOR OF THE HOLY WOUNDS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
Eternal Father, I offer

A
PRAYER TO REDEEM LOST TIME – ST TERESA OF AVILA
O my God! Source of all
mercy! I acknowledge Your sovereign power. While recalling the wasted years that
are past, I believe that You, Lord, can in an instant turn this loss to gain.
Miserable as I am, yet I firmly believe that You can do all things. Please
restore to me the time lost, giving me Your grace, both now and in the future,
that I may appear before You in "wedding garments." Amen.
PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS
Lord, make me
an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there
is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life
TO ST. JOSEPH FOR PROTECTION
Gracious St. Joseph, protect me and my family from all evil as you did the Holy Family. Kindly keep us ever united in the love of Christ, ever fervent in imitation of the virtue of our Blessed Lady, your sinless spouse, and always faithful in devotion to you. Amen.
SPOUSES FOR EACH OTHER
Lord Jesus, grant that I and my spouse may have a true and understanding love
for each other. Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust. Give us
the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony. May we always bear with
one another's weaknesses and grow from each other's strengths. Help us to
forgive one another's failings and grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness and
the spirit of placing the well-being of one another ahead of self.
May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing year.
Bring us both ever closer to You through our love for each other. Let our love
grow to perfection. Amen.
PRAYER FOR FAMILY
Heavenly Father, you have provided us with a magnificent example in the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Give us the grace to follow that ideal through the practice of family virtues in the bond of charity and thereby assure ourselves of living happily forever in your heavenly home. This we ask of you. Amen.
PRAYER
FOR DIGNITY OF HUMAN LIFE
Lord and giver of all life, help us to value each person, created in love by
you.
In your mercy, guide and assist our efforts to promote the dignity and value of
all human life, born and unborn. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
PRAYER FOR
EMPLOYMENT
God, our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look
for suitable employment. I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the
right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this
quest. I wish to use the gifts and talents you have given me, but I need the
opportunity to do so with gainful employment. Do not abandon me, dear Father, in
this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that I may return to you
with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance. Grant this through
Christ, our Lord. Amen.
PRAYER
BEFORE STARTING A JOURNEY
My holy Angel Guardian, ask the Lord to bless the journey which I undertake,
that it may profit the health of my soul and body; that I may reach its end, and
that, returning safe and sound, I may find my family in good health. Do thou
guard, guide and preserve us. Amen.
ST
FRANCIS OF ASSISI’S VOCATION PRAYER
Most High, Glorious God, enlighten the darkness of our minds. Give us a right
faith, a firm hope and a perfect charity, so that we may always and in all
things act according to Your Holy Will. Amen
PRAYER
FOR OUR PARISH
O God, you have made us the church of your dear Son. Make our parish a family
of one heart and mind in love toward you. Grant that our common life and work
may be an example to all about us. Guide our pastor and his assistants in their
work. Hear the intercessions of St. Martin or Tours, our patron; and keep us
secure in your love. Amen
PRAYER
FOR HEALING
Lord, look upon me with eyes of mercy, may your healing hand rest upon me, may
your lifegiving powers flow into every cell of my body and into the depths of my
soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring me to wholeness and strength for service
in your Kingdom. Amen
TO ST.
PEREGRINE – PATRON OF THOSE AFFLICTED WITH CANCER
O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker,"
because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who
have had recourse to you. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this
cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had
recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You
were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your
affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to
you. (Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are
praying)
Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and
for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy. Amen
ST. AUGUSTINE PRAYER FOR THE SICK
Watch, O
Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels
charge over those who sleep.
Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones.
Pity your afflicted ones.
Shield your joyous ones.
And for all your love's sake. Amen.
PRAYER FOR THE DYING
Most merciful Jesus, lover of souls, I pray you by the agony of your most sacred
heart, and by the sorrows of your Immaculate mother, to wash in your most
Precious Blood the sinners of the world who are now in their agony, and who will
die today.
Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul. Assist me in my last
agony, and grant that I may breath forth my soul in peace with you. Amen.
